Hi all, it's Friday question time!

Today's Friday question goes out in celebration of DW's Open Beta! Open Beta is a time of exploration, and the frontier. Making the social space into what we want it to be.

So what do you want your social space to be? How do you integrate the exploratory aspect of Steampunk into your life, or into your use of online spaces? You don't have to be specifically steamy here, I'm just discussing the spirit of exploration and adventure!

i enjoy s'punking to outdoor concerts and the local ren faire. i have a big honking toolbelt pouch that fits everything. my water bottle, my maverick, my little silver opera glasses, my spare gloves, my reticule, and my camera.

A place to meet like-minded folk. To new learn things and share things with others that's new to them. A place to belong.

I thinnk one of the big reasons I'm into steampunk is the punk angle. It's the pioneering spirit of steampunk. The sense of home-made, half-baked, jury-rigged awesome. I like my belongings and living space to have that touch of authenticity, individuality, what have you. So for me wearing a hat with goggles on (hypothetically, I do not currently own such a hat :( or much in the way of steampunk gear) would be on much the same level as buying clothes from op shops and altering them (not that do much of the altering either, i am lazy. and also unco) or putting duct tape on things. I love duct tape :P
