Greetings!

*peers through the steam and tried to hear signs of life over the clattering machinery*

Wow...Dreamwidth isn't very lively, is it?

What genre appropriate things have folk been up to thusfar this summer?

I just finished reading Catherynne M Valente's Palimpsest - It was amazing and much too short. And now I'm re-reading Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials trilogy.

I'm about two thirds of the way through China Mieville's Perdido Street Station at the moment, may post on it when I'm done. I've always liked his short stories but this is amaaaaazing. It's just, it's got EVERYTHING! Giant spiders! Steam-powered AI! Non-human sentients that actually seem non-human! Exploding cheese! less flaily response to come :P
harpers_child: melaka fray reading from "Tales of the Slayers". (SJ swear food)

I attended AnachroCon at the beginning of the summer. We have a local collection of steampunks who schedule a meet-up about once a month, so I've been going to those. I've also been sewing and researching to present a panel on the cultural history of tea drinking at next year's Con.
